Our Story
Located in the heart of Gilsum, New Hampshire, Gilsum Coin Mine is dedicated to bringing you a diverse selection of coins, bullion, currency and local products. The shop’s mission is to connect collectors and enthusiasts with unique finds, while supporting local artisans and producers. We buy and sell gold and silver coins and paper currency.
Owner Brian Bazarnicki opened his new store in Gilsum in April of 2023, after retiring from his 25-year service in the U.S. Navy. Brian had always dreamed of opening a shop of his own, and after amassing a large collection of coins, he wanted to share his knowledge, passion and experience with others: “I have been a collector since the mid-1960s, when I was a paperboy – when a variety of old coins was still in circulation.”
Customers to the coin mine are always treated with care and with Brian’s full attention, as he educates them on the joys of collecting. He takes the time to provide customers with the history of the coins and other pieces they bring into his shop. As Brian puts it, “One of my passions is to educate people on the joys of coin collecting and its relevance to the history of the United States. I have over 50 years of experience with buying and selling coins.”
